Keith HarterComposer, musician and engineer.
A musician first, the Virginia native got his first Kay guitar at age 12.
By 17, Keith was rocking with local bands, often on the road,playing a variety of music styles from country to rock, jazz, R&B and even a little funk.
In the late 70’s, Keith attended James Madison University in Virginia, then headed south to Texas where he attended Southwest Guitar Conservatory, headed by Jackie King. After graduating, he taught at SWGC for three years. It was during this time that Keith began to do some recording and jingle writing.
After spending several years in a home studio and later in with other local studios, the new Keith Harter Music facility opened in 2001.
Keith is an active part of the running of the studio business, especially enjoying the opportunity to arrange and play on many of the music projects that come to KHM.
Keith has two sons who are also in the music business. His oldest son Jonathan is part of the KHM staff.
